| This is Todd's car. Guess what, he likes it! Even with the absurd wing on the back. Paul was pleasantly surprised. Now's your chance to agree or throw tomatoes. |

| Not a bad choice. Although, I personally prefer Infinity's G coupe version. It has sexier lines and a less spaceship style cockpit. |

| The 300zx is one of the greatest cars ever. Todd, what kind of maintenance (type and cost) can one expect on a 300zx with 60-100k miles on it? Any maintenance tips? |

HotHatch,
To get more information that you could ever want about the 300ZX, go to:
http://twinturbo.net
They have over 70,000 members and all they talk about is the 300ZX. Be sure to use "Search" before you ask questions or you'll get flamed.
Another good website for Z info:
http://www.300zxclub.com
Hope this helps.

Massive! Thanks mate. (I'd still like to hear Todd's thoughts, if he's up for it.)

First off, Jerry know's what he's talking about. TwinTurbo is amazing! I do most of the work on my Z and I use the site religiously for it's DIY info and picture filled walk-thrus.
To answer your question. The 300 can be a reliable Japanese sports car, or a flaming hole for your cash. The difference is being able to track the maintenance.
60-100,000 miles is not something to stress (I bought mine at 74k and now have twice that much). But ideally you should find one where the previous owner has records.
There's a required Timing Belt change at 60k. And it must be done. If you buy one @ 60 or more and it hasn't been done, assume that they haven't done much else either. Mine had not been done, I did it within a couple months of buying it - and found the previous owner didn't take great car of the mechanicals. So, I chased ghosts for about a year.
BUT - I then got the car up to spec and it's been a DREAM ever since.
All that to say - If you find a 300zx that's been well taken care of and the records are available, BUY IT. Don't sweat the mileage number, look at the care.
Hope you find one!
Thanks for watching and commenting.
Todd. |

| I had terrible credit and was lucky enough to run into a N/A 300zx at a ma-and-pa dealership just a few days ago, and I am now the proud owner (well, after my 1-year loan is up) of this wonderful car. Carfax'd, test-driven, and inspected, and perfect all around. Next, I need to swap out the motor for the TT version because, well, it just has to be done. Any reputable dealers of motors out there? I would probably need the transmission as well, and it needs to be stick. I don't drive automatics. |

JSR -
If you're on the West Coast (LA) call the guys at Specialty Z. They are amazing for anything you need done. Basic maintenance to full swaps.
If you're on the East Coast (Atlanta) call Z1 Motorsports. They do every kind of work you can imagine on these cars.
If you're chasing parts, try Concept Z Performance (Arizona). Great guys and they have everything.
Beyond that, Try TwinTurbo.net for any and all information.
Hope that helps. Congrats on your Z! |

Hey all.
I am looking at buying a 1995 NissanZX NA-T-Top. They are asking $5,500 for the vehicle. It has tan leather interior that could use some TLC and some repair. My main concern is that winter is coming up and I'm concerned how the car is gonna handle in the snow. It has a nice wide profile so is this gonna make a differance driving on the snow? Thanks very much guys. |
